Lip Care

Hello you lovely lot!

This is a post I want to share with any of you who, like me, struggle with really dry lips. Here are my favourite products for nourishing and protecting your lips that I've come across so far.

Okay so the first is Burt's Bees Mango Butter Lip Balm - even the name sounds delicious doesn't it!? This is a great little product to pop in your handbag and use on the go! It smells gorgeous (like mango...who knew!?) and leaves the lips feeling lovely and nourished. The only thing with this product is that it doesn't stay on the lips for very long so it does have to be reapplied frequently which can be a nuisance but otherwise it's a lovely product.

The next on my list in Soap & Glory's Smooch Operator Lip Butter Balm. This is a bit thicker and stickier in consistency than the other products in this post so if you don't like sticky lip balm then this one probably isn't for you! That being said it does a really good job at moisturising the lips. It does tingle a little bit with wear but it's not extremely noticeable and it leaves the lips looking and feeling great!

This is my favourite lip product at the moment. If you're a beauty product junkie like me (or just a girl...) you'll know about The Body Shop's Wild Cherry Lip Butter. It smells soooooo delicious! Like just about everything else in The Body Shop! This product is perfect for putting on just before bed as it can work it's magic overnight and you'll wake up with extra soft and conditioned lips. It is a lovely consistency and size to pop in your handbag too for through the day if you want to slap on a bit of this fruity-smelling goodness! There is knack to getting the right amount of this product on though as too much can leave that peachy colour on your lips - otherwise it's perfect!

This product is one for those of you who like a bit colour wear through the day. This is Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 001 Honey Douce. Again this does a great job at moisturising the lips and the crayon-like design of it makes it super easy to apply without the mess of having to dip your finger into a jar (especially when you're on the go!). This is a lovely light purple/violet colour on the lips (not very pigmented - barely noticeable for just a pinch of colour) and lasts a good while.

Clinique Almost Lipstick

I'm on such a Clinique hype lately, their products have been really impressing me over the past few months! So today I bring you another product that I've been loving lately - the Almost Lipstick lipstick (clever, eh?? What? You don't get it either? Okay, keep reading...)

Now me being a bit ditzy like I am, when I received this sample in the post with the rest of my Clinique order I didn't bother to check what the item actually was so when I took off the lid and saw the dark colour I thought... Flipping heck! But I promise you when it's applied it's so subtle, it's just a touch of colour. Like lipstick that's ALMOST there... Get it now? Get it?

It's a lovely moisturising product too. It's quite light when applied, like a lip balm, with the colour benefits of a subtle lipstick. And it isn't too greasy or sticky either which is a bonus!

I recieved my lipstick as a sample so the colour wasn't chosen by me but to be honest if I had the choice I probably would've gone with this one anyway - Black Honey. It's a lovely dark pink/purple colour which looks great on it's own (for a more subtle look) and great over lipstick (perhaps for a more edgier night time look). It is perhaps more of a colour for autumn though especially for wear through the daytime but I love it nonetheless and still continue to use it through summer.

This product is a bit pricey at £17.00 but it would make a lovely birthday/christmas present. You can get it from the Clinique website or pick it up in stores. It is available in 8 pinky/purpley shades of goodness!

Have you tried this product before? What are you thoughts? :)

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Today I bring you a product that I have absolutely fallen in love with - Rimmel London's Wake Me Up Foundation. Usually I'm not a fan of liquid foundation (I've been a long time user of Maybelline's Dream Matte Mouse) but this one just hits the spot.

One of the big pluses of this product is that it lasts all day. My main issue with the Maybelline foundation is that is wears really really quickly so by early afternoon my make-up is almost gone. So it was really refreshing to try this foundation and not have to reapply throughout the day.

The other thing I love about this product is that is does exactly what it says it does - it gives you a radiant glow and makes you look really fresh and natural. I was really impressed with the coverage too, it just applies really easily and evenly. It's also really moisturising when you apply it so if you have quite dry skin (like I do) it applies without drying out your skin.

My only issue with it the lid. It's a bit odd I think - when it's lifted off the bottle there's a stick that lifts the foundation out of the bottle. The packaging is lovely but I would have preferred it if had a sqeezy top or something, just for convenience.

I wear mine in Classic Beige on top of the Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer and I am good to go for the day!

You can grab this foundation from boots and it costs £8.99 (either in store or online!) or Superdrug, Morissons, Tesco etc etc... Have you tried this foundation? What did you think?
